Winning Means Giving It All

As I approached the final mile of the race I realized there were only three opponents left. Obstacles standing between my goal and me.....the finish line.

As I reached the first opponent, I closed my eyes and heard this message: "You only fail if you fail to try." I peddled with all my might and took his place. One down, two to go.

As I neared number two I once again closed my eyes. Knowing this one would be harder, I searched for strength. Not only was I more tired than before, but this opponent was the second strongest. Suddenly I heard the voice from within: "You only see the obstacle when you take your mind off the goal." I visualized the finish line and continued to push my body to it's limit and took position number two.

My last opponent, my last obstacle was in first place for a reason. He symbolized every goal that I hoped to achieve. Knowing this would be the toughest moment of the race, I again closed my eyes. This time I waited for the message. But it didn't come. As the fear rose from inside I realized it was up to me, not this voice, to win the race. With that in mind, I opened my eyes and it hit me.

On the back of my opponent's shirt was the message. It read, "If you can read this........I'm winning!!!"

Then with every ounce of energy in my body and soul, I peddled and fought the toughest battle of my life. As I crossed the finish line, I realized that first place means nothing if you haven't given 150%. There is always someone out there who is a little faster or a little stronger, but the real champion is the one who reaches the finish line with nothing more to give.

Early morning go out with family to E!hub, den go downtown walk walk .
Ate brunch, then went walking around wild wild wet there .
Saw some small boys peeing at the side of the drain lor.
EWW HUH . What an obscene . The toilets are just like nearby ?!?!
After that we went to beach ! :D
Woohoo , its windy and sunny at the same time so okok la .
After that i flew a kite , had to run and run before it fly up in the sky .
Phew, dam tiring one can !

After i've had my fun, it was like 3plus le , my family tired . ):
but i still wanted to stay out . so me and my jie went out.

Had "late lunch/2nd round" with my ahjie at Bento Box (Jurong Point)
Far huhs ! i ordered chawanmushi :) But....
It wasn't that great. Quite standard la. hmmm.
& also an ice lemon tea. Erm, it's too sour and sweet. LOL :X

Then i ordered pasta with ham and mushroom too ! Quite substandard though..
& yes, you may say that if i go to a restaurant specialising in bento boxes,
Of course the other food selling there wont be that nice la.
But ar, we must be all rounded right? XD Hahaha.

Then my jie ordered seafood ramen :) I guess it's edible la huh.
Cause i dont really like seafood though, so yeah ....
Plus the seafood isnt that fresh & the mussels felt like those frozen type =.=

Ohoh, and when i was ordering my food right,
I asked the counter lady: "What do you recommend?"
Counter lady asked: "you want rice or noodle?"
I was like thinking in my mind "-.-, you ask me like that, how do i answer?"
I mean, i expect you to tell me the range of food what.
Easier for me to make my decision also luhs.
So in the end, i just looked at the menu and randomly picked a dish =.=
& that's the chawanmushi i ordered @ $4.50 .

Woooo, den we had dessert at Anderson's!
Hot waffle w/ belgium chocolate chip , YUMMMMYYY !
But it was $9.90 T.T dam expensive can D:
Then it was like 6+ going 7 when we finished having our dessert .
Went shopping , my sis bought alot laaaa . I didnt buy that much :x

Then when going home that time , Bought cheese and tiramisu cake at starbucks ! :D
I had it during my bdae , long time no eat le . Mmmmmm .

As you can see, we did little shopping . Lols.
& This is the first time that i ate so much in my life !
I feel like my stomach's gonna burst lor :x hahaha .
But had much fun going round eating . LOL !

One day while I was shopping with my mother, we were walking past a store with a big front window. In this window there was a little boy, just standing there looking back at me. He had a black eye and bruised cheek. And the look in his eyes was so sad. They were filled with so much pain and sadness that just looking into them brought tears to my eyes. And I turned away.

Some years later, while walking past the store again, I saw that same little boy. He had grown some but it was apparant that it was the same boy. He still had bruised cheeks and his nose was taped up from being broken. In his eyes I could still see all his pain, his lonliness, his sadness. Once again it brought tears to my eyes, and once again I turned away.

In my teenage years, I walked past the store again. And again the boy was there. He had grown into a tall young man. No bruises on his face this time. But his eyes had changed. They hadn't lost their sadness or their pain or lonliness, but they had taken on a hard edge. Looking into his eyes this time scared me. This time I not only turned away but I walked faster than I had before because I couldn't bear to see this boy's eyes anymore.

Since I've grown up, I haven't gone back to that store. Maybe because I'm afraid to see the man that boy has become. I was going to go once, but I decided I didn't need that in my life at this point. I mean what is he to me anyway? I don't need it. My life is happy.

Yesterday, I was in my house and I just happened to walk by a mirror. The strangest thing happened. That boy from the window, he was a man now, and he was in that mirror staring back at me. His eyes don't have that hard look to them anymore and he actually looked happy now.

When I think back to the little boy in the window, staring into his eyes, into my eyes, I can't believe I was ever that sad. And I can't believe that his eyes, my eyes, scared me so bad that I couldn't bear to look.

It shows me that anyone's life can change for the better. If that little sad boy, who turned into a hard angry teenage boy, can change into the happy man I saw yesterday... then anyone can change for the better, given the right circumstances.

dam full luh~ after that walk walk.
going home tht time finding bus stop.
